Thursday, February 10th, Highland Park Gymnastics hosted the Highland Park
Invitational welcoming 20 teams from across the state of Texas. The Lady Scots
finished in 4th place as a team with their highest team score in optional
competition this season.
Sophomore Captain Arielle Iola finished 3rd all-around, just 0.25 out of first
place. She scored a season-best all-around score, as well as season-best on
Vault and Beam. Ari placed 1st on Bars, 2nd on Vault, 2nd on Beam, and 8th on
Floor. Her highest score of the meet was 9.8 on Bars.
Senior Captain Arden Howell competed in her final home meet as a Lady Scot,
finishing in 8th place all-around with a season-best score. Arden also received
personal-bests on Bars and Floor. She placed 3rd on Beam with her highest score
of the meet.
Junior Captain Wendy Watson rounded out the top-3 all-arounders for HP, placing
33rd. Wendy’s highest score of the meet was Floor. She received personal-bests
on Bars and Beam.
Freshman Caroline Near competed in the all-around and received a season-best
score. Caroline also scored personal-bests on Vault, Bars, and Floor. Her
highest score of the meet was Vault.
Freshman Katie Greer competed on three events scoring personal-bests on Vault
and Floor. Her highest score of the meet was Vault.
Freshman Sabrina Reenan also competed on three events scoring personal-bests on
Vault and Bars. Her highest score of the meet was Vault.
The next gymnastics meet for the Lady Scots is scheduled for Friday, February
18, at Saginaw High School. The meet is scheduled to start at 5:00 p.m.

Thursday, January 27, the Lady Scots traveled to Rockwall High School to compete
in their first optional gymnastics competition of the season. They finished 4th
as a team.
Sophomore Captain Arielle Iola finished 2nd All-around, 1st on Bars, 2nd on
Floor, and 5th on Vault. Her highest score f the meet was 9.8 on Bars.
Senior Captain Arden Howell placed 7th All-around, finished 3rd on Beam, and 6th
on Floor. Her highest score of the meet was 9.6 on Beam.
Junior Captain Wendy Watson was 9th All-around, and 6th on Floor. Her
highest score of the meet was 9.3 in Floor.
Freshman Caroline Near competed in the All-around and receive her highest score
of the meet on Vault.
Freshman Sabrina Reenan competed on three events and received her highest score
of the meet on Vault.
Freshman Katie Greer compete on Vault and Floor and her highest score was on
Vault.
Sophomore Lauren Newman had a great routine on Beam.
The next meet for the Lady Scots is the Highland Park Invitational hosted by
Highland Park. The meet is scheduled for Thursday, February 10th at 5:00
pm.

On Thursday,
January 21, the Lady Scots Gymnastics Team traveled to
Richardson
to compete in their final regular season compulsory meet of the year.
The Lady Scots finished first as a team.
Sophomore Captain
Arielle Iola won the All-Around at the meet as well as every event.
Her highest score of the meet was 9.9 on Beam.
Senior Captain
Arden Howell finished 3rd in the All-Around, 2nd on Vault,
2nd on Beam, and 4th on Uneven Bars.
Arden
’s highest score of the meet was 9.8 on Beam.
Junior Captain
Wendy Watson finished 5th All-Around, 4th on Vault, 5th
on Uneven Bars, 5th on Beam, and 5th on Floor.
Her highest score of the meet was 8.7 which she received on three events.
Freshman Caroline
Near competed on all four events and received a personal-best on Uneven Bars.
Caroline’s highest score of the meet was Floor.
Freshman Katie
Greer also competed on all four events and received a personal-best on Beam.
Her highest scores of the meet were scored on Beam and Floor.
Freshman Sabrina
Reenan competed in the Junior Varsity competition finishing 5th
All-Around, 4th on Vault, 4th on Uneven Bars, 5th
on Beam, and 6th and Floor. Her
highest scores of the meet were Beam and Floor.
Sophomore Lauren
Newman competed in the Junior Varsity Competition on Beam and Floor.
Her highest score of the meet was 8.4 on Beam.
The next
gymnastics meet for the Scots is scheduled for Thursday, January 27, at
Rockwall
High School
. The meet begins at noon.
